Panoramic View of San Miguel de Allende

…so I’m here now…

* San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico *

Arriva around 1am on Sunday morning, March 3rd.  That means I’ve marked 2 weeks here.  I’m hopeful to track daily entries about my experiences here.  I’ve missed some time… and I have So much to say…  I have to make this short tonight though.

AUTOBUS

So … I’m learning to ride the buses around San Miguel.  I had to get rudimentary instructions from the Tourist Office at the Jardine.  I told the Tourist Office guy that I was staying in Colonia La Lejona.  He told me that would make me on “Route 6”.  Great!  After cabbing home, and investigating the situation… I still couldn’t figure out the bus stop for Route 6.

Next day – I returned.  He told me that the bus stop in the neighborhood was at the “Clinica”.  He said there is a blue fence there by the clinic… and the buses stop there.  SO… later in the day – I picked up my dogs… and we went on an investigative walk around the ‘hood.  BINGO!  I found the Clinica just as he described.  And blue-and-white SMA buses were loading and unloading at the location.

The next day, however, I decided to catch the bus at the MEGA STORE.  (It’s almost as close as the clinic stop for me.)  Naturally – I stood waiting in the wrong location.  (I was at the stop in front of the store… instead of the stop on the side…)  BIG DIFFERENCE if you want to hop on for CENTRO.

I figured it out – hopped on… paid the driver my $5 pesos and rode into town to the stop on Insurgentes – not far from the Biblioteca.

What a sense of accomplishment!  I’ll continue to explore the possibilities of bus riding around town.  It’s interesting mixing with the locals… and seeing the world of possibility with the bus.

Today I noticed on 2 buses I rode…  At the front of the bus, near the Driver, each had:

* A Crucifix

* A Dreamcatcher…

The Dreamcatcher was hypnotizing…

It made me think that this was the beginning of the unfolding of my dreams.

When I got back to my apartment… I saw a Red Bird fluttering around in an adjacent, vacant lot.  My real estate agent told me that seeing a red bird brings GOOD LUCK!

My dream feels SO right!
